The Benefits of Team Sports
Team Sports not only test your physical capabilities, but your mental capabilities as well. Sports help promote communication skills, decision making, and respect.
The physical aspect of sports can be very demanding. In order to be at the peak of your game you must train your body to endure things that you wouldn’t normally be able to face. Some people might ask why do such a thing? But by doing this you are preparing yourself for life. There are going to be times in your life when you are going to face challenges and if you push threw them two things will happen. First you will be stronger, and second you will be equipped for the next challenge that lies ahead.
Most people believe that sports are mainly physical. Myself being on a basketball team can completely testify against that. I would dare say 75% of the game is mental and the rest is physical. Which brings me to my next topic.
The mental side of sports is probably the most important part, far as preparing you for life. It teaches you how to stay positive when you are down by two points with 30 seconds left in the game or whatever the situation may be.
Probably the biggest thing that people have against sports is the risk factor. Yes there are going to be accidents and people are going to get injured, but that comes with about anything. Overall the pro’s out weight the con’s. So go out and play a sport today, remember the most important thing is to have fun.
